Custom Stainless Steel Sensor Housings

Yunwei Hardware manufactures seamless stainless steel sensor housings for industrial measurement, process control and equipment monitoring. Each housing can be developed as an OEM deep drawing part around the customer’s drawing, mating components and environmental requirements. The one-piece shell removes longitudinal weld seams, helping create a clean exterior, stable mounting geometry and fewer potential leakage or contamination paths.

Typical structures include cylindrical cups, closed-end sleeves, flanged bodies, stepped shells and housings with secondary holes, slots or threaded features. During DFM review, our engineering team evaluates the draw ratio, corner radii, flange width, material flow and access for trimming or machining. The production route may combine blanking, multiple drawing stages, intermediate forming, trimming, piercing, deburring and final finishing. This controlled sheet metal deep draw sequence is selected to reduce wrinkling, tearing and excessive wall variation.

Materials and Performance

304 stainless steel is a practical choice for general industrial environments where corrosion resistance, cleanability and mechanical durability are required. 316 or 316L stainless steel can be evaluated for more demanding moisture, chemical or hygiene conditions. Material grade, temper and sheet thickness are confirmed against the operating environment and forming depth before tooling is released.

Available finishes may include deburring, sandblasting, vibration polishing, brush polishing, mirror polishing, electropolishing, painting, powder coating or PVD coating where appropriate. Finish selection should consider appearance, cleaning method, corrosion exposure and assembly contact surfaces.

Dimensions, Tolerances and Quality Control

Every custom deep drawing part is quoted and manufactured from a controlled drawing or approved sample. Diameter, depth, wall thickness, flange flatness, concentricity, hole position and mating dimensions are reviewed as separate characteristics rather than covered by a blanket tolerance. Critical dimensions and inspection methods are agreed during DFM and sample approval.

Quality control can include incoming material verification, first-piece inspection, in-process checks and final dimensional inspection. Prototype and sample testing are available before production scaling.
